PROPERTIES : Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose is an anionic water soluble polymer and is a sodium salt of a carboxymethyl ether of cellulose .It is white or grey in colour and is found generally in granule or powdered form .It is odorless , tasteless,gummy,free flowing and non toxic in nature . It act stable towards hard water , alkalies , acids and certain electrolytes . It is formed by replacing hydrogen in an acid by a metal .
