Physical And Chemical Properties : Dicalcium Phosphate , also known as calcium monohydrogen phosphate is a dibasic calcium phosphate .It is a powder generally produced from the extraction of Calcium Phosphate from Rock Phosphate and the subsequent neutralisation of the acid dissolved salt .It is hardly soluble in water or methanol , and easily soluble in acids. It is usually found as dihydrate, with the chemical formula CaHPO4 • 2H2O, but can also be thermally converted to the anhydrous form .It contains about 23 percent calcium in its dihydrate form .

It acts as an antioxidant and additive in food to supplement the food ratio of phosphorous and calcium . It is important for the formation of steady bones , normal functioning of energy and for reproduction .The main typical products containing dicalcium phosphate includes tinned and packed fruit desert and granular food products . It too acts as a dietary supplement in prepared breakfast cereals, enriched flour, and noodle products. It is also used as a tableting agent in some pharmaceutical preparations .
